Hallstatt is a town with 757 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2016) in the Salzkammergut in Upper Austria in Austria and is located at Lake Hallstatt. Along with the Dachstein Salzkammergut and the interior it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt-Dachstein / Salzkammergut. According to findings in an extended burial above the place a period of time of the earlier time is iron (800 to 450 volts. Chr.) Referred to as Hallstattzeit. The community is located in the judicial district of Bad Ischl.
