Elixhausen is an Austrian municipality in the province of Salzburg. With an area of ​​8.36 square kilometers, the municipality is one of the smaller area towns in the district of Salzburg. Located close to the city of Salzburg and the many green spaces, the community has grown rapidly in recent decades due to immigration. Elixhausen 2,893 people live (as of 1 January 2016). Economically Elixhausen plays a minor role in the district of Salzburg. The community is economically dependent mainly on the city of Salzburg and surrounding communities as Bergheim. In 2006, a part of the cycling world championships was led through the town center.
