Redcliffe is a town in the Australian state of Queensland and is located on a peninsula in the Moreton Bay about 28 kilometers northeast of Brisbane. On September 13, 1824, the first penal colony in Queensland was founded on "Red Cliffs Point". This moved the following year to the Brisbane River around and it was not until the late 19th century, was settled again to Redcliffe. After the public transport was improved in the 1930s, the settlement grew into a town of today about 9000 inhabitants (2011).
