Gold Coast

Gold Coast is a city on the southeast coast of Queensland in Australia, about 70 kilometers south of Brisbane. It has evolved over 50 years from a loose collection of smaller communities to the second largest city in Queensland with almost 600,000 inhabitants (2010). It is Australia's sixth largest city and Australia's largest tourist area. The "South Coast Town Council" renamed itself 1958 in "Gold Coast Town Council" to, and on 16 May 1959 he was officially declared by Queensland to the city of Gold Coast.
