Cowra

Cowra Shire is a Local Government Area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales. The area is 2,810 square kilometers and has about 12,150 inhabitants. Cowra is located in the Central West about 200 km north of the Australian capital Canberra and 330 kilometers west of Sydney. The area includes 40 districts and places, including Billimari, Cowra, Darby Falls, Gooloogong, Morongla, Mount McDonald, Noonbinna, Wattamondara, Woodstock and parts of Canowindra, Koorawatha and Wyangala. The seat of the Shire Councils located in Cowra, where about 8,100 people live. Canowindra a balloon festival, the "Marti¹s Balloon Fiesta" takes place annually, come to the more than 20,000 visitors. It is one of the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The village lies about 33 km north of Cowra and is called "Ballooning Capital of Australia".
