The Chipping Norton Lake is an artificial lake in the eastern Australian state of New South Wales. It lies in the southwestern city of Sydney on a bend of the Georges River. The lake was created in the 20th century by the breakdown of sand and sandstone. The quarries filled with water later and now serve the water sports. The operation of motor boats is permitted, but its velocity limited to 8 nodes. The lake has three large pools and is surrounded by a recreational park with bike paths, playgrounds, boat ramps and sports fields. The Georges River Environment Education Center is also located there. The Lakes Boatshed called - - in Chipping Norton Recreation Center a city hall is integrated, which can be rented for private parties. Prospect Creek, tributary of the Georges River, does not lead directly into this, but in the Chipping Norton Lake.
