General Pico

General Pico is a town in the northeast of the province of La Pampa, Argentina. The city has an area of ​​2,555 sq km is located to 143 meters above sea level. Since the land is very fertile, in General Pico especially livestock and farming is done. With a population of 53,352 (2001 census), it is the second largest city of the province, to the capital, Santa Rosa. The railroad crossing between the West and the South was a determining factor in the placement of this city. It was founded by General Eduardo Gustavo Pico, who was governor of the province of La Pampa. General Pico has two very important basketball teams in the Argentine League: Pico Football Club and Independiente de Pico.
